Something a bit funny is going on around here

Keighley Comedy Corner 3

About this event

A fantastic night of comedy at Keighley Comedy Corner

What a night! We were delighted to host another fantastic evening of live comedy at Keighley Comedy Corner, and the atmosphere throughout the venue was brilliant.

The audience were fantastic from start to finish, creating a great atmosphere for all four comedians. Sol Bernstein topped the evening off with a hilarious set, with Hayley Ellis, Jamie Sutherland and Tony Vino each bringing their own style and plenty of laughs to the stage.

There was a great mix of comedy throughout the evening, from sharp observations and stories to plenty of audience interaction, and the room was buzzing right through to the final act.

It’s exactly what we want Keighley Comedy Corner to be about — great comedians, a brilliant crowd and a proper night out right here in Keighley.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported the show and helped make it such a memorable evening.

We can’t wait to do it all again!

The Line Up

Sol Bernstein

After 25 years of semi-retirement, playing nursing homes, Sol Bernstein is back where he belongs, in smokey nightclubs performing to drunks!

He’s the man who helped the career’s of Elvis Presley. Marcel Marceau (never even got a “thank you”) and even the Beatles were influenced. He’s worked with, and been friends with, some of the worlds GREATEST performers; Judy Garland, The Rat Pack, Lenny Bruce, Jack Benny, George Burns, Milton Berle, Doris Day, Tommy Cooper, Eric Morecambe and Eddie Large.

He’s performed all over the world at venues including The London Palladium, New York’s Carnegie Hall, The Paris Olympia, Caesars Palace Las Vegas, and Scunthorpe Baths, but it’s at night clubs where Sol really comes to life. His charisma, his style, his catch phrase “why don’t you put on a tie” his chutzpah, put it all together and you get the magic that is Sol Bernstein.

Hayley Ellis

Northerner Hayley Ellis is not only a solid act but also a multi-award winning MC and has provided tour support for Sarah Millican, John Bishop and Jason Manford. Her comedy is sharp, clever and very funny, and her warmth, quick wit and ability to ad lib means she is one of the fastest rising women in comedy. Her wealth of material has also led her to contributing to Russell Howard’s Good News, Radio 4 Newsjack, Absolute radio and XFM’s breakfast show to name a few.*

Jamie Sutherland

Jamie is one of only a few comics that can tailor his performance to suit your audience, maintain a politically correct routine throughout, keep the entire show without a trace of bad language, and combine original observational comedy with more traditional gags. He is extremely popular with corporate clients and equally at home performing at his nearby social club, where his act suits ages from teen to pensioner.

Liverpool has a history for producing some of the countries finest comedy talent, and Jamie Sutherland can now be added to that fine list.
A headline act on the comedy circuit, working for some of the countries finest clubs. Jamie is also a corporate hospitality MC at Everton FC, for all their home games.

A very original act, who will keep you amused with gags, tales, and stories. Jamie is a modern act, with many observational topics, and up to date material, and don’t worry if you prefer a good old style gag, he has plenty of them thrown in, ensuring a performance that will touch everyone’s buttons.*

Tony Vino

Tony Vino has been touring the comedy scene since early 2005 performing across the UK and internationally. He is best known for the way he seamlessly mixes well thought out observational humour with audience interaction and quick witted responses. His life and interests are wide ranging, and so is his material, all performed in a warm, friendly and non-offensive style. When hosting festivals and corporate events Tony’s confident effervescent persona has been found ideal for engaging  crowds in their 100’s and 1000’s.

Well aware of social and political issues Tony has been called upon to entertain at many high profile events for charities such as Christian Aid, Oxfam, Fairtrade Foundation and TearFund. He’s also been the tour support act for TV acts such as Jimmy Cricket and Tim Vine. He travels internationally performing at resorts and on cruises. He has performed for TV & Radio and was even called upon to be the warm up comedian for BBC’s  Songs of Praise (a low point in his career).

Alexandra has performed around the world, New York, France, Germany and most recently Amsterdam. She has also  performed at the Piece Hall in Halifax performing her own music.

Alexandra takes inspiration from musicians such as Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac and florence and the machine just to name a few.
